Hi folks,
Today myself and Mikey Hannah from Burghead tried our luck,
Mikey hooked this lovely female flapper skate,
She measured 72"x88" 223.2lb
We only had the baits in the water about 1hour,
When the rod went,
Also lots of haddock again, upto 16"
Last year the first skate of the season was caught in April 20th,
This is the first skate of the season and what a fantastic first skate ,
We have trips available daily,
During the week is 4hr fishing trips targeting skate and haddock,
Also 2.5hr wildlife trips daily
Weekends is 8hr rough ground fishing, targeting cod ,ling, Bluemouth, ect

223.2lb dam it there goes my record fish at a mere 223lb Well done gentlemen

I will definately try align for another trip when up this year. Need to break that 200lb mark

My 2025 website booking calendar is updated,
And we are taking bookings, so you can plan ahead and book your trips.
The prices are pretty much the same as last year, apart from skate fishing, where tackle hire is the same price as other trips, £10
This includes rod n reel, rig and lead.
Some of you may follow or even take part in Scottish species hunt,
Where you can win some fantastic prizes,

Moray Firth Fishing Charters is feeling joyful.

Well folks, that's it for another season
this year was definitely a challenge at times with the weather,
Thankyou to all my customers, new and old .
Here's a few pictures from this season,
The skate fishing this season has been our best season so far, with around 70+ skate landed, 223lb female still our biggest,
Neil chambers from Lincolnshire caught our new boat record male skate 153lb,
Out of the 70+ skate we caught around 65 females, the smallest female measured 179lb,
And the smallest male measured 128lb
3 ,Catfish/wolfish being the new species caught this season,
Bluemouth rockfish also a new species last season, we have landed around 100+ this season.
Cod have been plentiful this season, biggest landed 11lb, boat record is 11,6lb
Ling 9.8lb being the biggest this season,
Definitely been a bigger number of coley,
A few times hitting a massive shoals of coley
With full strings coming aboard,
For everyone onboard, fish upto around 20"
Mackerel were late this season, and patchy at times, hopefully 2025 will see an early arrival, would be nice.
Wildlife has been pretty good, orcas ,whales, dolphins,
Always fantastic to see in there natural environment,
I believe it was john coe, and aqurius, the 2 most well known orcas, decided to come along side our boat whilst we were fishing, Always love seeing orca,
My 2025 calendar is being updated,
So anyone wanting to book a trip, visit my website where you can purchase tickets.
My next planned trip is January 3rd, hopefully the weather will be good.

We've not been out for a week or so due to the weather,
This Wednesday 27th 7.30am until 3.30pm
we 3 spaces available ,8hr skate fishing £75 all-inclusive bait and tackle,
Saturday 30th, 8am until 4pm, 8hr rough ground fishing, Cod ling ect, £60 per person, tackle and bait available.

Today turned out quite nice for the time of year,
Great bunch onboard, good banter all day,
Fishing started a little slow with no drift, as the tide turned Fishing picked up,
Biggest cod today was 11lb
Lots of ling,
Picking away at codlings, male and female cuckoo wrasse, sea scorpion, 1 coley and 1 mackerel,
I think that might be it for a while as the weather is turning,
We plan to keep Fishing through the winter if the weather let's us.
